AJ Styles Turns Heel On Ricochet, Reforms The Club On Raw

Who saw this one coming? If you said “literally everyone”, then you’d be right, but it was still a nice piece of TV and a good storyline for AJ Styles.

After pinning the new United States Champion Ricochet on last week’s Raw, AJ Styles had an opportunity to win the belt in a title match last night, but fell victim to a roll-up.

Styles then shook Ricochet’s hand while Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson looked on at ring-side. Styles turned to leave the ring, and then punched Ricochet in the face before all three men beat down on the champion.

Scientists have said people on the International Space Station saw this heel turn coming, but even the astronauts are happy to see AJ being used in his best role once again. The bonus of getting to see Gallows and Anderson on screen for a while is very pleasing too.

While this trio may be short lived given that Gallows and Anderson have said they will not renew their WWE contracts which are set to expire at the end of this year, it’s good to see that someone in the back seems to be realising how much unused talent they have in their ranks.

If Ricochet is able to overcome the odds and defeat Styles, presumably at Extreme Rules, it would put him over massively and really cement him as a star.
