Alberto El Patron (Alberto Del Rio) has now made a case for himself to be entered into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The former WWE star took to Twitter with a graphic of himself in front of the Hall of Fame logo.
Reeling off his WWE accolades, Alberto captioned the post:
wrote:
4 times World Heavyweight Champion. Winner of the biggest battle royal in WWE history. Money in the Bank winner. 2 times WWE United States Champion. I will do my best to raise the Mexican flag once.
(Translated from Spanish)
Alberto last wrestled for WWE in August 2016, ahead of his release that September.
The former WWE Champion has been a controversial name in wrestling for some time, recently involved in a backstage incident, allegedly forcing his way into a building for a wrestling show in Mexico after turning up late.
Serious aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault charges against Alberto were dropped in December 2021.
Also in December, Alberto stated that he believed that him joining AEW in the future is ‘possible’.
