Aleister Black Returns On WWE SmackDown

Aleister Black has officially made his return to WWE during tonight’s April 25 episode of SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas.

For the past few weeks, ‘mysterious’ vignettes have been airing on SmackDown that eventually pointed to the date of April 25.

After Black – who had been using the name Malakai Black in AEW – was released by the promotion in February, it was clear that the vignettes were leading to his WWE return.

Black had been released by WWE in 2021 before joining AEW.

Tonight, he made his comeback to WWE, cutting off an in-ring promo from The Miz.

Miz was complaining about how he wasn’t involved with WrestleMania this year, before Black’s theme music played and he made his entrance.

The theme music is a slightly remixed version of Black’s popular original theme from NXT several years ago.

He did briefly use a different theme made by def rebel in 2021 before his release, but this time he used a remix of his NXT theme which was originally by CFO$.

Black joined Miz in the ring and laid him out with the Black Mass.

It’s also confirmed he’s gone back to the name Aleister Black, rather than Malakai.

Black is a former NXT Champion but didn’t win a title on the main roster in his previous run with WWE.

In similar news, Rusev returned to WWE Raw this past Monday after being released by AEW the same day as Black in February.
