Aleister Black Breaks Silence About Zelina Vega WWE Release

Following his own WWE release, Aleister Black has opened up about the WWE departure of his wife, Zelina Vega.

Zelina Vega was released from WWE in November 2020 after speaking out against WWE’s third party ban. Black has discussed Vega’s departure from his point of view, while he was still with the company.

Speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Black stated that he tried to remain professional throughout the ordeal. Calling the circumstances around her release questionable, Black noted that he was put in a tough spot when Vega was given her marching orders.

Briefly discussing his return to WWE, Black said:

“Two weeks before I came back and hit Big E, I sat down with Vince and he was like, ‘Are you ready?’ One week later, I’m sitting in the gym and I see a name on the phone calling me. It was a distinct voice and this person also didn’t understand why I was let go. It was a sense of relief.

“They let my wife go, under reasons that are questionable. Everything got sorted out and is fine, but they called me and said, ‘We understand this is putting you in a tough spot.’ Nope, this is my career, I spoke about it with her and this is business between you and her. Does Tom, her husband have an opinion on it? Sure. Does Aleister Black the professional? Nope. He’s ready to go to work and create. She agreed.”

Shortly after Vega left, reports indicated that Black had asked to go back to NXT. WWE reportedly denied Black’s request, keeping him on the main roster.

With Black gone, WWE reportedly has no plans for Big E. Another report has stated that Vince McMahon loves the former New Day member, and will most-likely find something for him to do.
