Alexa Bliss Future WWE Character Direction Could Depend On This Weekend

It appears that the direction of Alexa Bliss and her character in WWE are likely to depend on merch sales this coming weekend.

A big part of Bliss’ current direction is Lilly the creepy doll, as Bliss has essentially adopted the role ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt had before his release.

Andrew Zarian is reporting that merch sales this weekend for the doll itself are likely to decide whether WWE continues featuring the doll going forward or to pull it from TV.

WrestlingNews.co has added some more details, writing that Vince McMahon is a fan of the doll and laughs every time he sees it.

McMahon is said to be aware that there is some criticism of it, but he thinks that’s just internet fans, and if people buy the doll, that makes it a success.

Since Lilly is such a big part of what Alexa Bliss is doing currently, if it doesn’t work out, maybe she’ll revert back to being a bit more, well, palatable.

However, WrestlingNews.co reports that it hasn’t heard of anything like that happening, adding: “We have heard no talk about the current incarnation of the Alexa Bliss character being scrapped”.

The report also notes that there has been talk of more kids’ toys such as a Nikki ASH doll, but the expansion of that could also rely on the success of Lilly.

Bliss is set for a match against Eva Marie at tomorrow night’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
