Alexa Bliss Officially Reveals New Name

WWE star Alexa Bliss has taken to social media to officially announce her new name, along with a “new frame of mind”.

There have been silly ring name changes aplenty in WWE recently, and thankfully this isn’t one of those, but rather a pleasant change to her real name.

Bliss married Ryan Cabrera last weekend, and she’s now announced that she’s taken on her husband’s surname, so her real name is now Lexi (short for Alexis) Cabrera.

Of course, while the wife taking on the husband’s surname is still the most common thing to do, it’s not necessarily a given and there are other options, but there’s your clarification that Lexi and Ryan opted for the traditional route.

If you’re wondering why we haven’t seen Alexa Bliss on TV on WWE TV for quite some time, the wedding and her honeymoon is a large part of that, but there have reportedly been some issues backstage as well.

Those issues, as you may well have guessed, have largely stemmed from a lack of creative direction, which she’s even said to have voiced her frustration about to Vince McMahon himself.

Fightful reported that there had been pitches for Bliss to be involved in the Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair match at WrestleMania 38, but ultimately they were shot down.

As of the most recent update via PWInsider, WWE’s internal roster list has Bliss listed as the #2 ranked babyface on the Raw brand despite her absence, behind current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair who is #1. Rhea Ripley was #3, but she turned heel this past Monday.
