Real Reason For Alexa Bliss WWE Return Being Scrapped Revealed WWE

Alexa Bliss is fast approaching two years since she was last seen on WWE screens and the reason for a scrapped return has now been revealed.

Bliss’ last match took place on the January 28 2023 Royal Rumble where she lost to the WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.

It was previously reported that there were creative plans for Bliss’ return although those plans were put on hold “indefinitely”.

Dave Meltzer has now provided further details on the reason for the scrapped plans on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Bliss and WWE are working on terms for a new contract.

Confirming PWInsider’s report that she was set to have a segment with the Wyatt Sicks, Meltzer noted the following about plans for Alexa Bliss:

“She was supposed to be on the show in San Jose (WWE Raw on January 13). They’ve not come to terms on a contract, but she was going to (return).

“She was expected to come back and they’re just working out a contract deal.”

Per the previous report, there was a belief within WWE that Alexa Bliss still has time remaining on her current deal that she had prior to her absence in 2023.

The three-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion was recently announced as voicing Obiguro in the English dub version of anime Yuuto Suzuki’s ‘Sakamoto Days’ for Netflix.

Bliss is reportedly not currently factored into plans for the WWE Royal Rumble which takes place on February 1, 2025.
