Injured WWE Star Cleared For Return

Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Aliyah has not been seen on WWE TV since the September 12 edition of Raw.

At the time, she held the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez.

During the episode, Aliyah and Rodriquez dropped their title to Dakota Kai and IYO SKY (Damage CTRL).

Aliyah later revealed that she was injured and had suffered from an elevated first rib and an AC Sprain.

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Aliyah is now cleared to return to WWE.

Dave Meltzer noted:

“Aliyah is cleared to return after being put on the sidelines with an injury which led to Shotzi taking her spot on the Smackdown women’s depth charts and going babyface.

She hasn’t been used on television since there is no current storyline for her and wasn’t figured for Survivor Series. This was first reported by Ringside News and confirmed.”

So it seems that Aliyah will remain on the sidelines until she is factored into a story for her return.

Aliyah’s former tag team partner has been at the center of a storyline with Shotzi in recent weeks.

Rodriguez has formed an alliance with Shotzi, aiding her from attacks at the hands of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

Shotzi faced Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series WarGames, where she was unsuccessful in her attempt to catch the  SmackDown Women’s Championship.

It has been reported that this is leading to Rodriguez challenging Rousey for the title at Royal Rumble, which you can read more about here.
