It sounds like Aliyah may have been removed from the SmackDown brand’s women’s team at WWE Survivor Series.
Tonight’s SmackDown opened with ‘WWE Official’ Sonya Deville introducing the SmackDown women’s team, made up of Shotzi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Aliyah and Sasha Banks.
Naomi, who in storyline has been denied opportunities (like being on the team) by Deville, then came out, and a six-way brawl led to a six-woman tag match.
Aliyah, Banks and Naomi picked up the win over Natalya, Baszler and Shotzi, with Aliyah scoring the pinfall after Naomi delivered a cheap shot to Natalya from the outside.
However, when the show came back from commercials, there was a backstage segment with Aliyah and Deville, which had Deville telling Aliyah she’d been “advised” that Aliyah had been removed from the team.
No replacement was named so we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out. It was done in a way that didn’t really outright “confirm” it, so we’ll keep you updated.
