After a week of fans calling for it, All Elite Wrestling has announced the signing of Eddie Kingston.
Kingston had a star-making performance in his AEW debut last week on Dynamite. He answered Cody’s open challenge for the TNT Championship a cut an incredible promo. Kingston said Cody didn’t know anything about grinding. While Cody was raised around legends, Kingston was raised around alcoholics and junkies. He then challenged Cody to a No Disqualification match.

The match itself was equally as great. It wasn’t too complicated but it saw Cody take a gruesome bump into a pile of thumbtacks. Cody then fought back and retained the title by submission. We will now see what AEW does with Kingston going forward.
Kingston is a veteran, having made his debut in 2002. In his 18-year career, Kingston has found success in CZW, Chikara, Impact, and NWA. Kingston was with NWA until earlier this year where he was in a tag team with Homicide.
Eddie Kingston is not the first indie star to face Cody and get signed by AEW afterward. Ricky Starks also earned himself a contract following his match with Cody.
