It has been reported that all WWE performers received a text message yesterday, informing them of the recent major releases.
It was previously reported that Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana, Santana Garrett and Buddy Murphy were leaving WWE. The rest of the WWE locker room reportedly were informed about the releases through a text message.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis sent these texts, informing talent of their colleague’s departures.
Meltzer pointed out that this may have been the first time that all talent received a text message about other performers being released.
When commenting on the news, Aleister Black admitted that his release came as a total surprise. He has since thanked Paul Heyman for always having his back.
Mick Foley has commented on Braun Strowman’s departure, stating that he should be a can’t-miss signing for AEW. A report has since revealed that Strowman and the other released competitors will not be able to appear at All Out in September due to non-compete clauses.
