MLW is looking to make a larger impact by entering into the streaming game. Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Amazon has talked about a streaming partnership with the wrestling promotion.
Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video, has a number of original programs such as Jack Reacher and The Boys. This would be the first wrestling-based content for the platform.
Johnson reported that wrestling could be a viable option for Amazon as the industry does not have unions. This would allow content to be created without the fear of potential writer strikes, which exist in traditional media. MLW is also reportedly meeting with other outlets.
The promotion held their first pay per view event in November, simply entitled Saturday Night SuperFight. MLW also recently announced a talent-exchange partnership with Dragon Gate of Japan.
