Former NXT Champion Andrade El Idolo has bid farewell to All Elite Wrestling, amid WWE return speculation following AEW departure.
At AEW Worlds End, Miro defeated Andrade El Idolo thanks to an assist from CJ Perry.
Following the show, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed the news that Andrade had finished his run with All Elite Wrestling following the end of his contract with the promotion.
This came after a recent report indicated that many expected the former United States Champion to make a return to WWE imminently.
On January 2, Andrade El Idolo took to social media to share a farewell message to AEW, some of the wrestlers he will miss and the fans. He wrote:
“I want to thank you for this time that I belonged to the company @aew and above all to Tony Khan. I also want to say goodbye to all the talent, security people, cameramen, referees and everyone who works in the company for being part of my time in AEW.”
“Kenny, Young Bucks, Tazz, Schiavone, Aubrey, Jerry, Hobbs, Hook, Kingston, Ricky, Orange, Thunder, Jack Perry, Austin, Colten, Sonjay and many more that I can name, also how to forget all the Mexicans (todo el relajo).”
“I enjoyed sharing the ring with STING, PAC, Darby, Garcia, Jay and many more. I would have loved to face MOX, Page, Hobbs, Ricky, Dante, Cage, Dustin.”
“Thank you AEW AND Thank you to all for your support always. I wish you the best always.”
El Idolo added the caption, “Thank you so much @AEW @TonyKhan.” It remains to be seen if and when Andrade will make his return to WWE at the time of this writing.
