Andrade El Idolo appears to have expressed frustration at his current position in AEW.
Following Triple H taking over WWE creative in late-July, it has been speculated that several former WWE stars currently with AEW want to return under the Triple H regime.
A previous report, which claimed that some AEW stars with significant others in WWE want to join them, also fuelled rumors that Andrade would want to rejoin WWE to be with Charlotte Flair.
Andrade El Idolo’s recent Twitter activity has indicated that he’s unhappy with his current AEW role, with the former NXT Champion retweeting a post from a user pointing out that Andrade wasn’t in action on the September 28 edition of Dynamite, despite AEW being short on talent due to Hurricane Ian.
The tweet read:
So many wrestlers are suspended. So many are injured
There was a “Hurricane” also , Still AEW didn’t Let Andrade Wrestle😌
He was there in the same backstage segment for the 1000th time 🤦
Andrade last wrestled for AEW in the Casino Ladder Match at All Out on September 4.
The AEW also fuelled speculation in a recent post, with the hashtag ‘#FreeElIdolo’.
This isn’t the first time that Andrade has caused a stir about his AEW status on social media, with the star liking a tweet last month claiming that WWE utilised him better.
Former WWE stars Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews are currently on wrestling hiatuses, but Black has denied claims that he has been granted his AEW release.
