Andrade Set For Match Against Major Lucha Libre Star

Andrade has been racking up the major match announcements since his WWE release.

Now, another major match has been announced and currently, it appears to be his first scheduled match since leaving WWE. The match will see the former NXT Champion clash with El Hijo del Santo, one of lucha libre’s biggest stars.

The match has been announced for June 12, 2021. Here is the tweet from Luchablog with the match announcement:

El Hijo del Santo is, as the name suggests, the son of El Santo. El Santo is the biggest star in Mexican wrestling history, becoming a major icon in Mexican culture.

In addition to this major match, Andrade will also team with RUSH, Bestia Del Ring and a mystery partner against Matt Taven, PJ Black and two mystery opponents on June 19. This match will be at the debut of Federacion Wrestling.

After this match, Andrade’s next challenge will be against former WWE star Alberto Del Rio on July 31. Then, Andrade is set to challenge Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania XXIX on August 14.

Andrade’s last match took place on the October 12, 2020, episode of Raw. On the show, he faced Angel Garza before being taken on television where he remained until his release on March 21, 2021.
