Anna Jay Discusses AEW Rampage Street Fight

AEW star Anna Jay was a part of some ‘gory self mutilation’ back on the New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Rampage on December 31, where her and Tay Conti defeated The Bunny & Penelope Ford in a Street Fight.

Anna recently appeared on Thunder Rosa’s Taco Vlog, where she reflected on the chaotic match. When talking about the match, she said:

“That was the most fun I think I’ve had wrestling.”

Anna admitted that the match was stressful to put together, before praising AEW agent Jerry Lynn, who also helped put together Rosa’s Lights Out match with Britt Baker last year.

She said:

“He’s the best in every aspect. For this, for sure, working with him, I was really looking forward to it. Could not have had a better person to work with,”

The match was taped prior to that week’s Dynamite show, with fan anticipation building for the match before it aired. Anna spoke about the fan reception to the match, saying:

“It was cool because afterward, to see that people really enjoyed it and saw we did bust our ass, literally a little bit, was really cool and I’m glad people liked it. I’ll never forget that and I’m glad people saw it in that way. it’s a match that will go down in AEW history,”

Finally, Anna Jay admitted that she is looking to become ‘more intense’ in her matches, as she feels like she is too calm in the ring.

She said:

“It’s not completely a gimmick. I’m pretty calm in person and very laid back, I keep to myself. In the ring, I would say I’m still calm, that’s what I’m working on, I want to be more intense because I’m not an intense person. I would say there are similarities, but it’s like an intensified version of me. I’m pretty laid back, don’t really do much, I’m easygoing.”

Anna Jay is currently 4-1 in AEW in the year 2022. For a full list of AEW’s women’s division’s win/loss records for the year, click here.
