It has been reported that Ring of Honor also reached out to CM Punk about a return.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has reported that Marty Scurll (ROH’s head booker at the time) asked to reach out to Punk about a return to the promotion.
The report states that the conversations did not go very far. However, it was also said that word from ROH is that story, opponents and general plans were more important to Punk than money.
Fightful reported yesterday that CM Punk was in talks with AEW about a return to the ring. He has not wrestled since leaving WWE in January of 2014.
CM Punk and Ring of Honor have a lot of history together. He was their world champion in 2005 before leaving to sign with WWE. He was also one of the key figures in the company’s early years, also working as the first trainer at their wrestling school.
We will continue to provide details about the return of CM Punk as more information becomes available.
