Another NXT Star Set For SmackDown Dark Match

In recent weeks, numerous NXT stars, such as Karrion Kross, Bronson Reed, Shotzi (Blackheart), Tegan Nox, Toni Storm and others, have been working dark matches prior to Raw and SmackDown, including some names who have since debuted on the main roster.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that the plan is not for these matches to stop now the fans are back in the building, before noting that – as of this past Tuesday – NXT star Xia Li was set for a dark match prior to tonight’s (July 16) SmackDown.

Fightful noted that they have not heard any plans of her being called up as of now, but with Shotzi, Tegan Nox and Toni Storm getting called up last week after having dark matches, it’s certainly an indicator that one may be coming in the near future.

Xia Li is set to challenge Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship on next week’s (July 20) episode of NXT
