Starrcast II, the wrestling convention promoted by Something To Wrestle With’s Conrad Thompson over Double Or Nothing weekend is shaping up to be as big of a deal as the sold out AEW show at the MGM Grand.
Yesterday came the surprising news that The Undertaker and Ric Flair would be appearing at the event, joining a star-studded list that already includes the likes of Sting, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Jim Johnston, Jim Ross, Ricky Steamboat and LA Park.
Today, the official Starrcast Twitter account confirmed that another contracted WWE star would be making an appearance at the event: Jerry Lawler.
Many fans have wanted to hear the story behind this match…now at Starrcast II, they can hear it live!

The King will be appearing alongside veteran Hall Of Famer Terry Funk to discuss their classic empty arena match from Memphis 38 years ago. That classic match influenced Mankind and The Rock’s empty arena match on Halftime Heat 18 years later, in which Mick Foley’s alter ego defeated Rock to capture the WWE Championship.
The addition of Lawler to the event is an interesting one, as he recently signed a new two year contract with WWE that came with a raise, despite his presence on WWE television being vastly reduced in recent years. It might have been expected that Lawler’s contract would include some form of clause preventing him from making such an appearance but that is obviously not the case.
You can purchase tickets for the three-day event at the official website.
