Asuka Teases Mystery Partner For Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament

It began to seem like it would never happen, but the tournament to crown the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions is set to get underway on tomorrow night’s (August 8) episode of Monday Night Raw.

We are yet to get any teams confirmed for the tournament, but several pairs would make sense to be a part, such as IYO SKY & Dakota Kai, Nikki ASH & Doudrop and Natalya & Shayna Baszler.

Former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka seemingly confirmed that she will be a part of the tournament on Twitter today, teasing a potential mystery partner for the tournament.

She wrote:

I will be the tag team champion again But where is my partner?

Asuka and Alexa Bliss would seem to be the team for the tournament, given their alliance on this week’s episode of Raw, but it could always be an NXT call up, or a returning former WWE star.

Neither woman who Asuka has previously held tag team title gold with (Kairi Sane and Charlotte Flair) are currently on WWE TV, so we shall see.
