Asuka has addressed her to Jade Cargill in the Queen of the Ring final at WWE Night of Champions on June 28.
The WWE Premium Live Event saw Cargill defeat Asuka to become Queen of the Ring, with Cody Rhodes defeating Randy Orton to become King of the Ring.
With Cargill sharing her thoughts after the match, Asuka has responded to the gratitude of the winner with a warning of her own, tweeting:
“💖 But next time… I won’t hold back. 🤘😈”
Cargill was effusive going into her Night of Champions match, reflecting on the impressive career of Asuka and considering herself ‘thankful’ to step into the ring with the WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion.
Over on Instagram, Asuka shared a photo of herself backstage after her defeat at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The photo caught the attention of Bayley, who reflected on their shared past together with a comment that stated:
“u wish u had damage CTRL now huh 🙄”
Formed in July 2022, Damage CTRL was quietly disbanded in early May following the departure of Dakota Kai.
Led by Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY completed the original lineup, with Asuka joining in November 2023 and Bayley being ejected in February the following year.
Asuka returned to WWE Raw on June 16 after more than a year away to treat a knee injury that had required surgery.
