Austin Theory Teasing WWE Main Roster Call-Up?

It appears that NXT star Austin Theory could be teasing a call-up to the WWE main roster in his latest social media post.

Ever since late 2020, Theory has been a member of The Way faction along with Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, but it sounds like it’s time for him to move onto the next step in his career.

Theory tweeted:

The Way helped me get to that next level as a performer. I can’t thank the people I was surrounded by enough. If you got lost in reality with what we gave you then we did our job ❤. Now on to that next level . Also Papa John thank you ✋ @Johnny Gargano

Theory has regularly been working dark matches before main roster shows since WWE returned to touring in front of crowds back in July, and he was backstage at this past Monday’s Raw.

He did appear on NXT this past Tuesday for the Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis wedding, which would be a pretty fitting way to end his run with the group.

With all the new faces on the NXT roster, Theory does stand out as someone who is levels above a lot of others with his in-ring work even though he’s still only 24, so there’s no need for him to be loitering around in developmental anymore.

With the WWE Draft coming up, Austin Theory was actually one of the names I picked in a list of eight people who should change brands in the draft, so you can read that full list at this link if you’re interested.

Theory already had a run on the main roster last year, firstly as a replacement for Andrade at WrestleMania as Angel Garza’s tag team partner, and later as a ‘disciple’ of Seth Rollins, before being moved back to NXT.
