Details Of Another AEW Backstage Altercation Revealed AEW

There were a lot of backstage issues in All Elite Wrestling in the year 2022, I don’t know if you were aware.

From Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara, to Andrade and Sammy Guevara, to the All Out media scrum, many situations led to hostility backstage in AEW.

However, two popular AEW stars have now revealed that they were also involved in a backstage altercation last year, though this one was sorted before it could escalate.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is noting that AEW stars Swerve Strickland and Ricky Starks were involved in an altercation following a Tag Team Championship match at Double or Nothing, which led to a ‘scuffle’, per the two men.

The issues allegedly stemmed from a miscommunication in the match following an unplanned spot that saw Swerve attack Starks after a pin attempt on Jungle Boy.

The original plan saw Starks go for his finish, but Swerve decided that it would be better to improv getting hit and dumped out of the ring so he wouldn’t just be standing around watching the situation.

The two reportedly had a follow up segment on Dynamite after the show that was nixed, but the two made peace after that, and remain fine to this day, with the two working together again at AEW Fyter Fest a few months later.

The two men reportedly spoke about the scuffle while on the Jericho Cruise for an upcoming episode of Swerve’s podcast.
