Backstage Reaction To Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax Disaster Match

Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax made headlines for the wrong reasons following their match on this past Monday’s WWE Raw.

The match devolved into what many people referred to as a “shoot fight”, which it wasn’t, but it was definitely uncooperative and they weren’t on the same page.

It seemed what happened was, after a series of sloppy/dangerous moves from Jax, Flair’s temper boiled over somewhat.

Flair was about to go for a pin on Jax at one point, but Jax just stood straight back up, which is when Flair slapped her and the match became what it became.

Adding a little bit to the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:

“I’ve talked to people there, and I kinda got the sense that there was more of a blame of Flair than Nia.”

Something similar has happened with Charlotte Flair before. During a match with Kairi Sane, she started slapping Sane because she thought Sane wasn’t cooperating. It turns out Sane had a concussion, but Flair didn’t know that and lost her cool.

It was reported previously that nothing happened backstage between Flair and Jax after the match, and the finish, which was Jax pinning Flair clean, was what had been planned.

This was likely supposed to build towards a rematch, this time for Flair’s Raw Women’s Title, but WWE might think twice about putting them in the ring together again after what happened on Monday.
