The backstage details on Bobby Fish’s AEW departure has been revealed.
Last week, it was revealed that Bobby Fish had left All Elite Wrestling after talks to renew his contract fell through.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update on Fish, stating the former WWE NXT star and AEW had entered discussions about possibly renewing his deal. There was said to be some interest on both sides about continuing the relationship.
However, the two sides weren’t able to come to an agreement financially and parted ways.
The report notes that AEW thought it was somewhat amicable until Fish’s tweets about CM Punk and the company. Also, it notes that there wasn’t much in the way of creative plans for Fish once Kyle O’Reilly’s injury happened.
Bobby Fish still remains friendly with many in All Elite Wrestling.
There is no word on if WWE has reached out to Fish, and he hasn’t been mentioned creatively from what they’ve learned.
We will have further updates on Bobby Fish’s status when they become available.
