Backstage Details On Zelina Vega WWE Return

More information has emerged surrounding the WWE status of Zelina Vega following her return to the company on SmackDown.

During Friday’s (July 2) show, Vega was added to the women’s Money in the Bank match line-up. She also returned to in-ring action, wrestling Liv Morgan.

As per Fightful Select (subscription required), Vega’s name has been listed on an internal WWE roster sheet for almost a month. She is reportedly listed as a “SmackDown heel”, which seemingly clarifies her future within the brand’s locker-room.

The report pointed out that Vega’s husband, Aleister Black, was released by the company during the process of her own return. Black’s name reportedly isn’t present on any internal roster sheets.

Fightful Select also revealed that a source had stated that they hadn’t heard of anybody working a Twitch/third party app deal into new contracts recently, and was uncertain whether the subject was brought up during Vega’s contract negotiations.

Vega was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in May, ahead of her recent SmackDown appearance. Several influential names reportedly pushed for her to be brought back by the company.

Vega recently took to Twitter to comment on her WWE return.
