Some backstage news has come to light regarding Kenny Omega and the agreement between AEW and IMPACT for him to drop the latter’s world title.
Obviously there are no specifics about who he’ll be losing it to or anything like that, but what we do know is that it’s all already been agreed upon and figured out between the two promotions.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“They’re all collaborating, especially with Omega. With Sammy Guevara obviously it wasn’t as collaborated because it wasn’t in as high profile a picture. But before Omega ever won the title, they had their battle plan all mapped out on what it’s gonna be, who’s gonna be on what show, and when it’s gonna be, and when IMPACT can get their title back. That was all part of the deal way ahead of time.”

Meltzer was referring to the Sammy Guevara situation from a few months ago where he wasn’t a fan of the plans IMPACT had for him at tapings and ended up being pulled from them.
The next big match for Kenny Omega is an AEW World Title defence against Jungle Boy this coming Saturday, and next month he defends the IMPACT World Title against Sami Callihan at Slammiversary.
