Backstage News On Andrade WWE Release Request

Some details regarding the backstage reaction to Andrade requesting his release from WWE have been revealed as per a new report.

According to Fightful Select, the request wasn’t a surprise to sources and they had expected it for a while.

The sources also suggested the request didn’t come as part of an “outburst” or a “confrontation”. It was reported previously that he requested his release at Raw this past Monday.

It was added in the report that Vince McMahon had “fallen in and out of love” with the potential of Andrade, but when his push ended following the removal of Paul Heyman as executive director of Raw, the writing was on the wall, as they say.

PWInsider also chipped in, reporting that a source said Andrade looked “absolutely miserable” on Monday.

Before the news of his release request, it had been reported that he wasn’t being brought up in creative meetings, and a potential reason for McMahon turning against him may have been his wellness policy violation in early 2020.

Andrade today removed WWE references from his Twitter account which is what sparked all this news to come about.
