Loud choruses of “Johnny Wrestling” were heard during last night’s Beach Break AEW Dynamite special, but former NXT star Johnny Gargano was nowhere to be seen.
Gargano has personally thanked fans for their support, tweeting that he heard their chants.
I heard you and you have no idea how much it means to me that you’re excited to see me back at it.
It’s scary to step away because your insecurities say “they’ll forget about you”.. but you haven’t forgotten and I promise that I will make it up to you asap. #JohnnyWrestling ❤

However, it appears as though we are going to have to wait a while longer to see Gargano in an AEW ring, as Fightful Select is reporting Gargano has not signed with AEW as of writing
The report does however note Gargano has been in contact with some people within AEW, but it isn’t known whether there have been any formal contract negotiations between the two parties.
Gargano has reportedly made it clear he isn’t planning on returning to wrestling until his first son, who is due in just a couple of weeks, is born.
