Some backstage news has come to light regarding WWE majority owner Vince McMahon and his influence on last night’s episode of Raw.
PWInsider reports that the opening segment, which featured Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss, and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt”, was completely McMahon’s vision, and several people had argued against the segment but he stuck with it anyway.
The report adds that creative in WWE is fully in the hands of McMahon and Bruce Prichard right now, and Prichard had even been described as the second most powerful person in the company.
However, Prichard wasn’t at last night’s Raw and Triple H was, which was described as “a breath of fresh air”.
It was also noted that McMahon had been very hands-on with Drew McIntyre’s new entrance with the sword, and McMahon had meticulously mapped out exactly how he wanted it.
There’s been a crackdown on segments running overtime too. The report states that people have been reprimanded for their segments going too long recently, including the producers of those segments.
