A backstage note has emerged on the booking of the AAA Tag Team Championship, ahead of the huge title match on AEW Dynamite.
Following FTR winning the ROH Tag Team Title at Supercard of Honor, Matt & Nick Jackson revealed that they will be challenging for these titles on Wednesday’s show.
It has been confirmed that FTR’s AAA Tag Team Championship will also be on the line, after The Young Bucks stated that they plan to walk into TripleMania XXX with the title.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AAA has allowed Tony Khan to make booking decisions regarding the championship:
“Even though the AAA Tag Team Titles are at stake, AAA has basically given Tony Khan the call to make. You would think there’s gotta be a plan in place because it’s their belts, but the plan is that Tony Khan can do what he wants.”

Since shortly after its formation, AEW has maintained a partnership with AAA, with Kenny Omega notably holding the AAA Mega Championship for 765 days, between October 2019 and November 2021.
The Young Bucks have commented on former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes’ WWE return, which you can read more about right here.
