More details have emerged on the Usos vs Viking Raiders non-match that took place at WWE Elimination Chamber.
A SmackDown Tag Team Championship match was originally advertised for the Premium Live Event, with the Viking Raiders set to challenge for The Usos’ gold.
The bout ultimately never took place, as Jimmy & Jey Uso jumped the Vikings during their entrance. Fightful previously reported that the bout was always meant to take place, but had been cut due to time constraints.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match was still scheduled to happen when the show started.
WWE was reportedly behind schedule, and rushed through certain matches, including the women’s Elimination Chamber bout. In the end, the tag bout was cut, and the teams were instead instructed to do the injury angle.
It is believed that the match will take place on an upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown. You can view the announced line-up for tonight’s show here.
