Backstage Reaction In AEW To Recent Changes At TV Tapings AEW

A new report has revealed the backstage reaction in AEW to recent changes at TV tapings.

As previously reported, All Elite Wrestling announced on May 17 that they will be launching a brand new weekly two-hour series titled AEW Collision starting on Saturday, June 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

In preparation for this news, the company has eliminated AEW Dark and Dark Elevation from their slate of shows and from television tapings.

Per PWInsider, the feeling among many in the company is that the elimination of other shows have made the tapings easier to work, have kept the crowds hotter and made producing the overall tapings much less of a weekly hardship.

The report notes that this has allowed more focus to go into AEW Dynamite and Rampage in recent weeks. Dynamite tapings has had a few live matches for the live crowd before going live for the weekly broadcast.

The most recent live events in Kentucky and Virginia were seen internally as some of the most fun they have had performing recently and there was a completely different vibe for them.

The report also notes that there were a “lack of the same type of pressure” that normally exists for television tapings.

It was recently mentioned that once AEW Collision debuts, the expected taping schedule will see live AEW Dynamite and then Rampage taped for the following Friday.

Meanwhile, there will be a live Collision and be bookended by Ring of Honor taping for the following Thursday.

We will have further updates in regards to AEW Collision when they become available.
