As we’re sure you’re aware at this point, it was reported yesterday that Daniel Bryan (real name Bryan Danielson) had let his WWE contract expire and was now technically a free agent.
Following on from this report, Fightful Select has revealed some of the backstage reaction from within WWE to this news, noting that Bryan didn’t make a big deal out of the fact that he was not intending to re-sign with WWE immediately:
The report notes that people within the company heard the news that Bryan was not intending to stay with WWE “through the grapevine” over the last couple of weeks, instead of hearing it directly from the former WWE Champion.
Speaking of the reaction to the report, Fightful notes that people within AEW don’t think that Daniel Bryan will be signing with them, noting that they expect Bryan to re-sign with WWE, which you can read more about by clicking here.
With regards to what the future may hold for Daniel Bryan, it has emerged that Ring of Honor (ROH) is expected to make an offer to the former WWE Superstar to try and bring him back to the promotion.
