Backstage Reaction To Matt Riddle Raw Botch

More backstage information surrounding the actions of Matt Riddle during a recent WWE Raw segment has came to light.

On Raw, an unusual series of events involving Riddle and Asuka took place. During a the show, Riddle and the Raw Women’s Champion were discussing scooters during a backstage segment. Riddle appeared to get flustered before wheeling himself out of shot, noting that he had forgotten his lines.

The end of the segment felt chaotic, with Asuka left by herself to react to Riddle’s unexpected departure. According to Ringside News, which has had many recent reports confirmed by the likes of Dave Meltzer and Fightful, this “botch” actually went to plan. WrestleTalk.com has also heard from sources that this is the case.

After the show, Riddle appeared on Raw Talk, where he and MVP poked fun at his antics earlier in the night. WWE promoted Riddle’s Raw Talk appearance, something the company arguably wouldn’t have done if Riddle had actually not followed the script on live TV.

Also on the show, Riddle was defeated by Sheamus, before attacking his opponent after the match. It was later announced that Riddle will defend his US Championship against Sheamus at WrestleMania 37.
