Backstage Reaction To WrestleMania Weather Delay Promos

Thanks to a new report, more is now known surrounding the promos cut during the WrestleMania 37 weather delay.

The first night of WrestleMania 37 opened with Vince McMahon and the WWE talent welcoming fans into Raymond James Stadium. Shortly after this match, fans were being moved from their seats and the show was delayed due to bad weather.

Fans at home were treated to segments involving the likes of Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens while they waited for the show to resume. According to a new report, the situation backstage was as chaotic as the promos felt.

As per Fightful Select (subscription required), some competitors were given “very little instruction or direction” for their segments. Despite the uncertainty, there was reportedly no true consideration to contest matches backstage.

It was also noted that WWE management were pleased with how the talent handled the whole situation, killing time until the event could continue.

A large portion of fans praised these promos. With WWE stars more often having to speak scripted lines than not, it was refreshing to watch WWE’s top competitors improvise and adapt.

Damian Priest made his WrestleMania debut during the show, teaming with music artist Bad Bunny. The former NXT talent discussed his relationship with Vince McMahon in a recent interview.

Charlotte Flair returned to WWE on the Raw after WrestleMania. She has now addressed her suspension after attacking an official on Monday night.
