The backstage reaction to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon recently visiting the WWE Performance Center has been revealed.
On Thursday (July 1), Vince McMahon attended a meeting at the WWE training facility. As per PWInsider, WWE President Nick Khan, Bruce Prichard and Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis were also at the WWE PC to speak with staff and observe training.
Prior to the visit, there was some concern in some corners of the Performance Center, given the number of cuts made by the company in recent months. It was reported that it was a very positive day, with the afternoon being described as “a breath of fresh air”.
A number of NXT talents have received main roster try-out matches in recent weeks. Among these names was Bronson Reed, who defeated Drew Gulak on WWE Main Event last month.
Reed lost his North American Championship to Isaiah Swerve Scott on NXT this week, fuelling rumors that his WWE call-up is imminent. Reed has addressed the speculation, revealing which main roster brand he’d prefer to be drafted to.
Also on Tuesday’s show, Mercedes Martinez was seemingly legitimately knocked out by Xia Li in their match. It has since been reported that Martinez did suffer a concussion from Li’s kick.
