Baron Corbin has confirmed that he was at a recent WWE shoot before learning that his WWE contract wasn’t being extended.
After Corbin hinted that he was gone from WWE, it was reported on Friday (November 1) that Corbin was informed that his contract would not be renewed.
Fightful Select later reported that the former US Champion was at the WWE/Netflix shoot on October 27, days before news of his departure broke.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful took to Twitter on Monday (November 4) to note this once again, writing:
WWE had Baron Corbin at a Netflix commercial/filming shoot six days before he was told his contract wouldn’t be extended, Fightful Select has learned.
Corbin confirmed this less than an hour later, replying:
That is a fact.
Corbin has wrestled across all three WWE brands since signing with the company in 2012. He was called back up to the main roster earlier following a stint in NXT, where he notably held the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Bron Breakker.
His last televised match saw him team with Apollo Crews in a losing effort against Angel and Berto on the August 30 SmackDown episode.
Baron Corbin has now replied to a fan comment arguing that WWE ‘fumbled the bag’ with him, which you can read more about right here.
That is a fact.
