A former WWE star has blasted The Ultimate Warrior.
One of the more polarizing figures in pro wrestling history is WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior.
Whether it be his lack of in-ring wrestling skills or his controversial comments outside of the ring, Warrior has been at the center of scrutiny and criticism since retiring.
In a new interview with Steve Fall on “The Ten Count” podcast, Barry Horowitz slammed Warrior for being an under-qualified wrestler. He said:
“Basically when the Warrior’s music stops, so does the match. It’s time to go back through the curtain, back home. And I’m calling it like it is. I don’t like to knock the people that are passed.”
Barry Horowitz wrestled Warrior 17 times in the late 1980’s with the former WWE star losing every time.
Horowitz continued on to explain his feelings for Ultimate Warrior and why he felt that the WWE Hall of Famer didn’t deserve his spot, saying:
“I think he disrespected the wrestling business and he was a smartened-up bodybuilder. And I’ve seen bodybuilders.”
“Well, maybe you need to do more. I don’t know, because I think back in the day, in his prime, Batista blew him away with his ability, his ring entrance, and his look.”
The Ultimate Warrior passed away in 2014 after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He is now remembered with a special Warrior Award every year during the Hall of Fame ceremony.
