Batista Calls WWE’s Creative Process A ‘Nightmare’

It’s not a good time to be a member of WWE’s creative team at the moment, with criticism coming in left, right and centre for the state of the current television product in the promotion.

Jon Moxley highlighted some of the issues on his now-legendary appearance on Talk Is Jericho a few weeks back.

The former Dean Ambrose placed the blame squarely on Vince McMahon’s erratic decision making and his being out of touch with what modern fans want.

Batista is the latest to weigh in and criticise the behind the curtain workings of WWE, in an interview with Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin.

“The creative process, I still don’t get. It was a nightmare to me the last time I was there, which was 2014, and it seems like it’s become worse. I feel like they don’t have a clear vision, a long-term vision, everything is very week-to-week. It doesn’t seem like they stick to a plan very much.”

Batista also pointed out that back in his day the wrestlers had more freedom and were allowed to build their characters and create a connection with the audience.

That is certainly not the case in this era of micromanaging and scripting every word.

However, despite falling ratings, attendance and interest in WWE overall, there appears to be little in the way of changes to the process coming anytime soon.
