Batista Is The Greatest Wrestler-To-Actor Ever? Marvel

A famous filmmaker praises Batista as the greatest wrestler-to-actor ever.

Professional wrestling allows its performers to showcase plenty of skills including their acting, which has led to many stars to make the transition into the world of Hollywood.

From The Rock to Roddy Piper, various wrestlers have tried their hand in the acting field to varying success.

With his role as Drax in “Guardians Of The Galaxy”, Batista made waves in Hollywood and has become a consistent face in films since.

Speaking to The Atlantic, filmmaker Rian Johnson discussed Dave Bautista’s acting chops after working with the former WWE Champion on “Glass Onion”.

When asked who surprised him the most on his last film, Johnson said:

“Dave Bautista. When I was writing [his character, a men’s-rights streamer named Duke Cody], I was picturing a scrawny dude who’s trying to overcompensate.”

“When Bautista was brought up, I was instantly so smitten by the idea. I’ve been a very big fan of his dramatic chops as an actor.”

When it was noted that Batista is “low-key the greatest wrestler-to-actor ever”, Rian replied:

“I absolutely 100 percent agree. And I think somebody like [Paul Thomas Anderson] is going to give him a real part and is gonna look like a genius.”

“As a person, Bautista is genuinely, immediately vulnerable when you meet him, and that’s what I was excited about.”

“This is someone who has the physical trappings of someone who would play it big, but he actually brings sensitivity to the role.”

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” starring Dave Bautista is currently streaming on Netflix.
