Batista Pays Tribute to WWE Legend

Former WWE Champion Batista posted a touching tribute on his Instagram for his former rival and friend, the late, great Eddie Guerrero.

Batista posted a series of pictures of a blue lowrider with the back of the car featuring multiple pictures of Guerrero and the words “Latino Heat” and “Eddie Guerrero”. Batista also added as a caption “My 64 Eddie Guerrero tribute. I miss that dude every day?#vivalaraza #latinoheat #Imperials LA #proudmember”.

Eddie Guerrero was well known for driving lowriders into the arena while he was on SmackDown in the mid-2000s, while the first time ‘Latino Heat’ drove one on TV was in the skit where he took Chyna to the prom. Guerrero was a real life enthusiast for the lowrider culture with many WWE superstars paying tribute to Guerrero through the use of the vehicle.

Batista holds the distinction of having Eddie Guerrero’s final pay per view match before his death in November 2005 at No Mercy where the ‘Animal’ defeated his friend in the main event to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Batista has said that Eddie really helped him during his transition to SmackDown in 2005 as not many on the blue brand were fans of ‘Big Dave’. Guerrero and Batista developed a friendship during the months before the former’s passing leading to Batista paying tribute many times on WWE programming.

Some of the most famous tributes include leaving the World Heavyweight Championship on the hood of one of Guerrero’s lowriders on the tribute SmackDown as well as winning the WWE Tag Team Championships with partner Rey Mysterio in Guerrero’s honor.
