Batista’s return to WWE after a four year absence was confirmed recently with the announcement that he would be part of an Evolution reunion on the historic SmackDown 1000.
The last time Batista was inside a WWE ring he walked out on teammates Randy Orton and Triple H following back-to-back defeats to The Shield, so there may be some tension in the air in Washington on October 16.
That tension may well lead to a long-term storyline culminating in a WrestleMania 35 showdown with Evolution leader Triple H.
According to Barnburner’s Fired Up Podcast, which is typically a reliable source:
“Batista may be signing a short-term deal with WWE at SmackDown [1000] to possibly appear at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania“
One more run
Batista has made no secret of the fact he was unhappy with his previous run in WWE, having been brought back as a babyface and booed out of the building at Royal Rumble ’14 for committing the sin of not being Daniel Bryan.
Batista has frequently talked about making one last full-time comeback with the promotion, culminating in a blow-off bout against old nemesis Triple H.
If the story is accurate and Batista is to appear on the aforementioned supercards, then this may well become a reality.
