It was reported recently that former WWE Champion Batista would not be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. He had previously been announced as part of the class of 2020 before the ceremony was postponed.
It was reported yesterday by Fightful Select that Batista’s exclusion was a result of WWE wanting to induct him when there are fans present.
Now, Batista has broken his silence and explained the situation. He revealed on Twitter that he had prior obligations he would have been unable to attend the ceremony. He added that he asked for his induction to be held off until a later date. Here is the quote:
“To the @WWEUniverse Unfortunately due to previous obligations I am unable to be a part of the @WWE #HOF this year. By my request they have agreed to induct me at a future ceremony where I’ll be able to properly thank the fans and people who made my career possible #DreamChaser”
Batista wrestled his final match for WWE at WrestleMania 35 against Triple H. It was his first match in nearly five years as he left the company in 2014.
