Bayley, Io Shirai & Dakota Kai Return At WWE SummerSlam

With WWE reportedly hoping to make a ‘creative splash’ at tonight’s SummerSlam premium live events, there are many names that fans have predicted could return on tonight’s show.

One of those names was former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, who has been out of action for over a year with an ACL injury.

Tonight’s show kicked off with a Raw Women’s Championship match, which saw Bianca Belair retain against Becky Lynch, before Bayley then made her return to WWE after over a year away.

However, she didn’t come alone, as she was joined by former WWE star Dakota Kai and NXT star Io Shirai, now going by IYO SKY. The three of them had a staredown with Belair and Lynch in the ring.

Kai was released by WWE back on April 29. Shirai’s contract was up this month, and she would likely have left WWE and returned to Japan if she wasn’t offered a main roster spot.

Triple H, the new head of creative for WWE, tweeted “… and we’re just getting started”.
