Bayley Comments On Becky Lynch Cage Match Being Cut From Raw 30 WWE

WWE star Bayley has commented on her steel cage match with Becky Lynch getting cut from the Raw 30 lineup.

Ahead of the January 23 show, WWE was touting Bayley vs Becky Lynch as one of the biggest segments of the night.

The bout ultimately didn’t take place, with Damage CTRL instead attacking Lynch before the match could officially get under way.

After it was reported that the match was cut due to other segments running over, many criticised WWE for choosing to bin off the high-profile women’s match.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Bayley explained that she was ‘not at all’ bummed out by the change, noting:

“I felt good. I honestly think it put our story in a whole different place. I think it did a lot for Damage CTRL. So I’m super happy with it.”

Noting that she did see that fans were disappointed that the match was cut, Bayley said:

“I did, which is cool. They have our backs and stuff, but I don’t want them to think that women’s wrestling is moving backward or that we’re not seen in the same light as Roman Reigns or anybody like that.

“We are very appreciated backstage, we’re treated super well, and we are a part of big conversations when it comes to big stories, big matches, big premium live events. We’re in conversations with that.

“I don’t want the fans to get the wrong idea with what happened. It was just what happened, happened. We’re going to make the best of it and they’re going to see how it made everything so much bigger and better.”
