Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has revealed that she wants to wrestle a popular AEW talent one day.
Bayley is currently out of action after suffering an injury during training. The WWE star has revealed that she’d love a match with AEW’s Serena Deeb in the future.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Bayley was asked who she wants to face once she returns from injury. Recalling her time in SHIMMER, Bayley said:
“I have so much respect and some history with Serena Deeb. I would love, love, love to be able to have a match with her one day. She helped me so much in my early career to get to SHIMMER. That would be so awesome.”
Serena Deeb officially signed with AEW in September last year. She most recently competed on AEW Dark: Elevation, teaming with Tay Conti to face Jazmin Allure and Vertvixen.
Bayley is expected to be out of action for approximately nine months. A report has stated that the injury caused some backlash backstage in the company, as some felt the mandatory training was unnecessary.
