Bayley Championship Botch At WWE Backlash In France

Bayley Championship Botch At WWE Backlash In France WWE

The WWE Women’s Champion Bayley inexplicably had an entirely different belt show at the WWE Backlash Kickoff event.

With WWE Backlash taking place on May 4, 2024, the kickoff show has taken place in front of the Lyon fans and streamed on social media.

During her introduction in front of the fans, a graphic was shown in the lower third that accurately identified the WWE Women’s Champion as Bayley.

Oddly, the image shown was the NXT Championship belt which is currently held by Trick Williams.

In reaction to the botch, some fans have wondered if Williams could be making an appearance at Backlash while others have jokingly suggested the graphic artist is about to be fired.

However, fans have also mentioned this isn’t the first time Bayley has received odd treatment from WWE, as she was missing from the WrestleMania 40 poster despite being the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match and set to challenge for a belt at the April PLE.

She’s also not on multiple upcoming WWE PLE posters despite being the current champion.

CM Punk commented on the WrestleMania omission specifically saying that she is “very much in the main event mix.

The WWE Backlash Kickoff show has seen loud reactions for Tiffany Stratton, including “Tiffy Time chants“.

It was also announced that the May 3 episode of WWE SmackDown would feature an eight-woman tag team match with Tiffany Stratton & Damage CTRL vs Bayley, Naomi, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill.

At Backlash, Bayley will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Naomi and Stratton in a three-ways match.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will also be in action, facing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) of Damage CTRL.
