Becky Lynch & AJ Lee WWE WrestleMania 42 Plans Update

An update has emerged regarding Becky Lynch and AJ Lee’s plans for WrestleMania 42 following their confrontation on the February 9 episode of WWE Raw.

After several months off TV, AJ Lee made her return during last night’s WWE Raw in Cleveland, OH – with the show kicking off with a face-to-face between her and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.

With her submission losses to AJ at last year’s Wrestlepalooza and Survivor Series premium live events, evidently still tormenting her mentally, Lynch gave in and granted her rival a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber on February 28.

With it being reported last week that Lynch vs. AJ was planned to take place at WrestleMania 42 on April 18-19, Dave Meltzer has now provided an update on the creative direction of the feud following the Elimination Chamber announcement.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer confirmed that Lynch vs. AJ is still set to feature on the WrestleMania 42 card despite the pair facing off first in Chicago in just over two week’s time:

“I was expecting this match at Mania, but I was told that there’s a reason it’s here and the story goes until Mania…

“…I was basically told, ‘Don’t worry it all plays out to get there.’”
