Becky Lynch Allegedly Suffering Legitimate Knee Injury

Becky Lynch Allegedly Suffering Legitimate Knee Injury

There were three big names absent from this weekend’s WWE house shows, and among them was the 2019 women’s Royal Rumble winner and everyone’s favorite wrestler Becky Lynch.

WrestlingNews.co is claiming that Lynch was absent as she is dealing with a legit knee injury, and was wearing a knee brace at last week’s Raw and SmackDown shows:

We’re told that Lynch is dealing with a legitimate left knee injury and that is why she was not at this weekend’s live events. She was wearing a knee brace at last week’s Raw and SmackDown Live and we’re told she was wearing it while on the road last weekend as well.

We don’t know if the attack from Charlotte Flair at the Rumble legitimately caused her to tweak her knee or if she had knee issues going into the show but she is not expected to miss any WWE TV’s leading up to WrestleMania.

Lynch is scheduled to appear this Monday night at Raw in a segment with Stephanie McMahon.

It’s important to note that there is of course the possibility that Lynch is simply selling a storyline injury and missing the shows was just another step to that.

Lynch is scheduled for a Raw Women’s Championship match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania, with conflicting reports as to whether that bout will turn into a three-way with Charlotte Flair potentially being added at some point.

The other two names absent from this weekend’s house shows were AJ Styles and Seth Rollins.

The site notes that Dean Ambrose replaced Rollins, actually cutting a babyface promo before challenging for the IC Title in a four-way that also included Drew McIntyre, Finn Bálor and retaining champion Bobby Lashley.

At this stage there is no explanation for Styles’ absence, but he did recently deny a report claiming that he had signed a new deal with WWE.
